Need some opinions on custum intake?????

well i have a hollley 465cfm on my 12a and im runing the RB canister that came with it. i might be wrong but seems like the RB canister pulls in hot air off the top of the engine? well i came up with a idea for my own carb hat design to duct out the air to behind the air dam, my car is N/A but may turbo it later, so the carb hat could be used then also. my question is would making a carb hat that had two 2.5 inch inlets, that was used to bring in cold air in instead of hot would it help that much, if any?? and if you guys think it would help would two 2.5 inlets be a sufficeint amount of air getting in, just worried it may restrict it, not sure. well thanks for the opinions and help, have a good one robert

Do you mean that you are considering a cold-air intake on your 12A? Pratch has a "How-to" on this:

yeah thats my plan, i have got my idea down, i am going to make it look good but i was not sure if two 2.5inch inlets would be enough air for the holley on a streetported engine. im machining it out of aluminum in the shape of a rotor and then making inlets on it so then it will sit on the carb and i will have two filters one for each inlet which will be placed down front

i have not ran it much not sure, tahts my question is it going to restrict any, but the RB canister is pulling hot air in just thought it might help to duct it out, ? maybe not what yall thinkif you think about it 5 inches of inlet would be a good bit but not sure if its enough
