Okay I got hold of an 84 GS and I'm about to open up the motor to rebuild it and I've been having some trouble deciding on a few things. I know that I want to port it, and I know that I want to get another carb to replace that old nikki. I've been searching for the past week and reading all about different carbs and types of porting and all of that.

What I would like to do is either do a large street port or a half bridge. But my problem is what kind of carb to get. I want a car that is driveable but still moderately fast. And I live in Alabama so fuel economy and emissions is not a problem at all, in fact you could probably drive around with just a header and nothing else and get away with it.

So if anybody could help me out on the goods and bads of the different types of carbs and ports that would be really great. Like I said I've been searching alot and I just can't find anything other than people's opinions, I'd like to get something solid.
