Need some Answers

Hey guys I finally got my 7, it's got a 12A in it, she's got some problems with her and I figured you guys would know a hell of alot more than me...So well let's get the list out.

1. She doesn't Idle
2. Loss of power...my top speed has been 43...going down a hill.
3. Bled the breaks but they don't work very well.

I think the problem may lie in the carb or the choke.

If you can help, give me any tips on how to take the best care of it, or a website that has the best body/engine parts would be awesome. Thanks Guys.

I'm new as well. You might want to start by reading the 1st gen faq's sticky at the top of the page. But first obvious questions are how long was it sitting, or was it sitting at all? Did you do all of the tune up stuff; ie, plugs/wires ect. The biggest thing to change, IMO, is the fuel filter. They seem to get clogged frequently on these cars. Start reading, and read some more on here and I'm sure you'll find people with similar problems as yours. Hope that helps as a start.

Assuming mechanical soundness, replace common "tuneup" items as suggested. Then look for vacuum leaks. Look long and hard.
