Hey guys,

I'm doing an FC oil cooler swap on my FB to get rid of the beehive. I'm trying to keep the appearance of everything as OEM as possible. I am getting ready to make up the new oil cooler lines, but I need something to keep them from bouncing around in the engine bay after I get them installed. I know that the GSL-SE came with a bracket of some kind to hold the oil cooler lines in place, and keep them from rubbing on stuff while driving. I'm trying to figure out if I can use the oil line bracket from a GSL-SE to finish up my oil cooler swap. So.....

I need a picture of the bracket that holds the oil cooler lines in place on a GSL-SE. Any of you guys with an SE that could post a picture of the bracket for me, it would be greatly appreciated. I attached a picture below showing what I need a picture of.

that bracket bolts to the engine on the left side. its a two piece bracket consisting of a bottom and a top. i have a spare. i'll get a picture of it on my dead engine. give me 5 mins..

Awesome! Thanks for the helping hand Dave! Hopefully I can use a similar idea to secure my oil cooler lines on Gus. Staying tuned.....

Ohh, that's a lot different than what the parts diagram shows. So does the back hose with the banjo fitting just lay in there?

it does.. just kinda hangs out there. if you need the bracket let me know.

i think there may also be a rubber piece that goes around the hose as well so that it does not rub up against the metal and cause a leak.. i may also have that part as well.

Well, I don't think the OEM parts are going to quite work for what I'm doing, but I can definitely copy that idea and re-use it. So thanks for the offer of the parts, but thanks mainly for the pictures. Now that I see how Mazda did it, I have an idea of my own that should work just as well. Off to Home Depot to pick up a piece of angle steel.

Update: I just checked and I do have that bracket. It looks like it's attached to the cross member since it's over it and I am using it since it's in the path of the lines. The lines actually looked like they have a little slack in them.

***That's odd, my SE doesn't have that (I'll double check when I go out) and I just put on SS lines that are so tight using that bracket would have made them too short and yes, that bothers me as I've had the oil line burst on the same SE and the oil was gone in a minute.***

I thought the SE brackets for the oil cooler (the rubber part) were no longer available. I just snagged a good one from an SE in the salvage yard though if there's a source, I'd rather buy them new.
