need this part - can anyone help?

I need this part.. actually two parts (one left, one right). It's no. 33260 on this diagram. OE part no.'s are as follows:

right: 8871-33-260A
left: 8871-33-270A

The diagram calls it a mounting adaptor, it's the part the front brake calipers attach to. My local Mazda dealer in Evansville said $43 apiece, but they've been on back order for 3 weeks now with no information on when they'll get here.

Anyone know where I can get these things (excluding a junkyard - I want them new or at least in reasonably good condition)?

Good question! That part is nearly destroyed by rust on my car.

Id say find them in the local junkyard in good condition, and use some grease lightening on them

"Mounting adapter"? That anything like a backing plate, LOL?
I see those in decent condition quite regularly at the local junk... uh... "salvage" yards.
For 43 bucks apiece I could buy 'em AND get 'em powder-coated. -WG

They've been on back-order so long, I'm afraid the dealer's going to be informed that they're no longer available.

The warehouse guy over in Hiroshima probably said "WTF?!! You gotta be kidding! (only in Japanese)" when he got the shipping notice for it

Yeah, clean up some used ones and spend that money on something else. What happened to yours that you need new ones?

I've seen those at the boneyard. They're in decent shape too. I'm sure you could get them cheaper than $43 and in comperable condition.

Howdy, I'm in Evansville also, and Mike P is just across the river in Owensboro.
I am pretty certain you get the parts you need at Liberty Pull-a-Part in Evansville, but you will have to go and get them. There is one gsl and a couple gs's in the yard.
Which side of town are you on? Don't see to many running 1st gens in town.

I actually live in Huntingburg, not Evansville. I was thinking of checking out the Liberty yard when the weather warms up. I remember seeing one or two decent FB's down there last summer when I was electric fan shopping.

Mike - mine are rust flaking to the point that I think it may have contributed to scarring up my brake rotor. Since I've got it all apart right now anyway and I'm staring at them I figured "What the hell? Why not replace them..."
