need nikki help, bent shaft
ok, in my quest for more power (ref my previous track video on why) I picked up a second hand (but brand new) sterling carb from a fellow forum member. The problem is that it wasn't stored very well and the main throttle shaft got bent under it's own weight. I'd like to know if this 1) will be an issue to the function of the carb) 2. can this be replaced. The bending is mostly on the less complicated side of the carb.
I'm also looking for a 12a racing beat holley intake manifold if anyone have one for sale.
Thanks!

Awk! Sorry about that! Didn't know it was bent when I sold it to you. Maybe it got bent when it was shipped to me, because it just sat after I got it. Ironically, Sterling said that the core I sent him had a bent shaft but he found a spare.
Is there a way to use another shaft from an existing carb? If you like, I'll help you pull another carb from the PnP over on Mowry.

No problem, I will deal with it john, don't worry. I figure it'll be a while before I use the carb anyway (still need a holley manifold, and I want to put in vent tubes on the float bowls to prevent fuel from dumping into the combustion chamber, so i'll work it out =)
Doc, I can' really replace the bottom part, as I'm assuming it has been modified as part of the sterling mods, I'm wondering if I can just use it bent, because it's mostly only bent on the side with the omp linkage...
