Need a new fuel pump?

Before i rip my gas tank off - can someone help me with a question -

I can't hear any sound coming from the pump - and the fuel filter (new) only has about a 1/4 inch of fuel in the bottom of it -

Do you think i need a new pump???

Thanks

Also - drained the tank looking for any reason the line was blocked - no extra junk - just fuel.

fulel pumps

i just gone and dun this and it isn't fun but i have some good recommendations ok 1 find the pump and then take it out u might as well just cut the wires then tack it apart it should be 2 shows then separate the electronic part from the mechanical its very easey then spray or soak all mechanical parts in wd 40 then dry off and put back to getter at all cost dont get iney wd on the electronics
new stock fuel pump 100-150$ 3-5 psi
universital pump at auto zone 30$ with 5-9 psi
universital pump at nappa 40$ 1.5-3.5- next
i bought the auto zone pump because of the psi and it was cheep.

and to see if your pump is working or not un huck it from the tank and the carb put the line that was going from the tank to the pump in a gas can and tern on your ignition and wait at see if u get a stream your good.

Wow, that makes my head hurt.

If you ever plan on upgrading the fuel pump now would be a good time to look into it. And in case you are unsure it is NOT an in tank pump.

Spelling don't count, it's the thought behind it.
