START AT THE BEGINNING FOOL!

well...first off...you need to decide what engine you are gonna put into your rx7...and it seems youve got somewhat of an idea...you'd like a 13b.

now you need to decide if you want a gsl-se 13b or a 2nd gen 13b...do some searches and you will find out the differences...pros and cons and such...mainly...the gsl-se 13b will have less power but be easier to bolt up...either way will involve quite a bit of work since your rx7 came with a 12a...(wiring harness, ecu, etc...)

i would suggest that you just do it right and do the s4 or s5 (2nd generation) 13b. now from here you need to decide whether or not you wanna go turbo...this all depends on your financial status pretty much and your horsepower goals for the car.

once you have gotten this far...take into consideration if you wanna buy a low mileage j-spec engine or buy a rebuild...a low mileage engine will be much cheaper...but you are taking a risk because you are going to be unsure of the shape of the motor other than what it visible and what the person says that you bought it from.

if you decide to go with a rebuilt engine...you need to decide whether you are gonna have a shop do it...(pricey)...or do it yourself...which is a cheaper way to go...then you need to decide if you want your engine ported...if you dont know much about porting...SEARCH FOOL!

anywho...in conclusion...a 13b WILL fit just fine...

oh...and as far as where you can buy engines...check out "pineapple racing" and "rotary ressurection" as well as "turnerdr.com" (which is where im gonna buy mine from cuz its so damn cheap)

good reasoning, from a FOOL! ha ha ha

anyways, you can go with any 13b engine except 3rd gen I believe and have the se front cover and oil pan put on so it will bolt right up. then you can carb it and make it easier so you don't have to deal with the fuel injection wireing mess. pretty simple. there are plenty shops out there that can do that for you. pricing changes from one place to another depending on parts used. they should be close to the same though.
good luck.
oh yeah.... stay away from these guys.
