need help with stock 12A oil pressure sending unit searched cant find specs

need help with stock 12A oil pressure sending unit searched cant find specs

A friend of mine dj55b is gone on a 2 week long road trip with this first gen, he called me up asking for the OHM specs for his oil pressure sending unit as his gauge is acting up funny so he just wants to make sure his oil pressures are ok. i looked in mitchells on demand and manuals cant find it any ware!!!

the FSM or haynes manual is of no help on this matter...they both say to remove the oil pressure sender and conect an aftermarket gauge to check the oil pressure.. i cant find anything about testing the sender...

Tell him to come to Naples and see Ron while he is in Florida. I have several used ones that work fine. He and I spoke about his trip in the SE section a week ago.

He can also test it with a few resistors from Radio Shack and the info in the FSM as mentioned above.

they are but it requires the "mazda checker" to test it per fsm. i guess if you grounded the sender wire and used a multimeter to test the ohm range it could work. i just didnt think of that the first go around. here is what the fsm says:
