Need help: Oil temp sender??
Need help on this one.
I figured out that the oil temp sender in the oil pan only feeds the sub-zero system, which I have already removed.
I'd like to use this location for an oil temp gauge in my new dual pod setup.
Anyone know what type and size fitting the oil temp sender is? Like I'm sure it's not a NPT being on a metric car.
Thanks in advance,
Scott

rxseven, your right and wrong. Yes theres an oil level sensor, but right aft of it is an oil temp switch for the sub zero system. That system does NOT use coolant temp.
Sorry dude I dunno the thread size offhand. Its a machine thread, I remember that much.

Since I don't have easy access to an RX-7 oil pan, I'd say the thread pitch is either 14mm x 1.5, or 16mm x 1.5, or 18mm x 1.5. Regular aftermarket gauges use NPT, which is close to its metric counterparts, but not a perfect match.
Got It
Well just to finish up this thread, the oil temp sender for the worthless sub-zero system is threaded M14x1.5. And yes, it is in the oil pan next to the oil level sensor.
Case closed.
