Need help with major bogg.

I really didn't want to hyjack another person's post so I started my own. We're trying to get our second RX-7 running and need some help. We bought a GS from some guy who was going to run it in IT. He basically tore a bunch of stuff out and then left the car for like 2 years. We got it minus all the emmisions and a bunch of other stuff. We've used block off plates and vacume caps for everything we've found, but the car is still running poorly. Basically if you go over 1/4 throttle it'll bog and stall out pretty badly. If you constantly tap the gas you can get it to rev correctly and once the secondaries kick in it's takes off like a bat out of hell. If you manually open the secondaries it runs awsome, but if you manually open the primaries it'll bog out. It seems like it's not getting enough fuel for the primaries which I can only assume is because we're missing something or something is blocked off that shouldn't be. Can you guys help with anything? Thanks.

Why don't you just put a V8 in it?

Because of what it's being built for. I'm not the type to run around saying that all rotorys are garbage and should be replaced with V8's but clearly you're the type to be a smart *** when the opertunity presents itself. **** off if you're not going to offer helpfull comments.

What type of Carb are you using. I broke down and bought the racing beat carburator and it runs great right out of the box. I had there intake and exhaust alos. I tried a holley 450 cfm and 600 cfm but had no luck with any of them. They created the same problems you have. When I first got the car if I stepped on the gas I would not go anywhere until I hit 3k rpm. That turned out to be caused by fouled spark plugs, loose spark plugs and one of the coil wires not fully making contact. I got mine after it had been sitting for 2 or so years.

Is it possible your accelerator pump bit the dust? Simple to check and might be a problem.. I dunno...

The carb is probably gummed up from sitting with old gas. Pull it, get a rebuild kit, clean it up. AP pump is a good possibility White84SE.

I started off by using some good gas and a bunch of in tank carb and system cleaner. While that was running i sprayed carb cleaner in the top of the carb to try to clean it. Also I watched the carb from above and noticed that it was dripping instead of spraying the gas

So basically you guys are saying the carb needs some TLC and it's nothing that I'm missing. Such is life. Good thing we have a second one sitting right next to it we can swap.

BTW it's the stock Mazda carb which ever that one is.
