need help installing dist on 12a

need help installing dist on 12a

i just got a 85 with a 12a and the guy who had it took the distributor out and i'm not sure where to set it since the rotor had 6 contacts on it. with the yellow dot at the timing mark, where should the dist rotor contacts be pointing?

There should be an arrow on the rotor, point it at the drivers seat.

Put the flywheel flat side on the same flat side as the intake and exhaust come out. Now you are at TDC. Look at the bottom of the dizzy, you should see a mark or divot on the gear and a line on the shaft. Line up and drop in.
