Need help with Flywheel Identification

I've got an 85 GSL. I heard the flywheels vary from year to year in our FBs and I need a new one. I found one on a stray block sittin in somones garage...is there any way to find out if it's the one I need? Is there any marking or anything on it? He know's it's from a first gen (since it's a 12a) but has no idea what year it's from. Any help?
