need help, distributer stuck...cant pass emissions with advanced timing...

like the title says, my distributer is stuck, and its had the timing advanced several degrees. it failed emissions because of it, and i cant really adjust it. anyone know how to unstick it? its prolly been this way for 15 years or more...any advice? its my last emissions test...

little penetrating oil/WD 40 rubber or brass mallet. give it a tap on the edge of the metal piece with the 10 mm nut holding it in place.

already tried that, it would rather bend than move...did the wd40 and heat, and slide hammer....none have worked so far...im getting frustrated...help?

cant move the distributor at all, cant remove it or rotate it!

But you got the bolt/nut loose? Spray with pb blaster or some other penetrating oil inbetween the plate of the dizzy and the aluminum front cover. Let it soak overnight. Sounds like the Al and Fe didnt play well together.

Mine did the same thing. Distributor just won't move without excessive force. I used a standard screwdriver and hammer to move mine. Put the screwdriver in the slot and hammer at it. It will move. Just takes a little time.
