i have a 84 with a 12a and it idles fine and revs fine but as soon as you try to take off it bogs out unless i floor it and it will take off otherwise there is no power.
what do i do?

a auto rx7 is a waste, would a clogged primary jet sound right?

 

I have no experience with carbs on cars, but when my old Honda XL 250 had a clogged pilot jet, it would bog and studder if you gave it too much gas too fast, if you eased on the throttle it would gain RPMs steady, but if you twisted the throttle fast it would bog. So you have the opposite problem that I had.

But the pilot jet does control the amount of fuel from closed to quarter throttle, so that may be your issue. The main jet takes over form about half to full throttle.
