I took my power from the spot where the power feeds into the fulible links near the battery, but that power source is constant (whether the car is running or off). I would highly recommend that you use a relay, otherwise you will burn up any switch in short order. There is a link somewhere on "how to properly install an E-fan" that helped me out a lot with my installation.

i got by using my fuse box ran the hot wire in with a 30fuse inline to the switch and then the 12v wire to the non hot side of the fuse works good the switch i got from flex a lite can withstand the power without a relay as i was told but i will see i just wanted my fan in before a club meet we have tomorw

I ran without an automatic thermostat for about a month, but it was a real hassle trying to remember to turn it on when I needed it. Not worth the risk of a toasted engine in my opinion.

I finally picked up a thermostat kit from Autozone for 18 bucks and used that (you have to ask for it, they keep it with the parts in the back). Works great. Sorry, I forgot to mention this earlier...
