Need help with ACV
Here is my situation:
12A stockport
ACV removed
Air pump removed
ACV block off plate
RB header
As I understand it, by looking at the Haynes manual, the Air pump supplies air to the ACV, which then supplies the air supply for the solenoids on the rat's nest. This would include the air supply for the A/C solenoid.
I want to hook up the A/C throttle opener. It's the piece that mechanically increases the idle when the A/C is turned on. The solenoid supplies a vacuum to the throttle opener which pulls in a long rod that engages the throttle. It is supposed to be set at around 1150 rpm when the A/C is on.
Any suggestions on how I can hook this up without reinstalling the air pump and ACV?
I have voltage at the connector to the solenoid, is there anyway to use this voltage to engage the throttle opener?
Ok, another question. I se that there is a solenoid valve for the choke return. Why does that still work when the A/C solenoid doesn't?
They are both fed by the ACV.

Ok, I am pretty sure that I am wrong about the Air pump supplying air to the solenoid valves. I think that I am missing something somewhere that supplies vacuum to the solenoids.
Does anyone know if all three of the solenoids pull from the same vacuum line?
