need help

ok first let me just say that i just joined and this is my first post. i have been a mazda freak since i was interested in cars but this is my first rx-7...finnally. anyway i need some help i just bought a 1985 7 and i beleive it is the s model. it has a brand new rb header and the holly intake kit(12a carburated) the owned got pissed off becouse the car runs like **** after he put this stuff on it(runs perfect if he holds the choke plate closed) i havent been able to verifly this becouse the battery is dead and i have no charger and low on funds, but anyway the was so mad he sold it to me for 500 bucks (body is mint just needs paint and the interior is nice) anyway i got to thinking and looking on the net and alldata, thats a huge shop manual for all cars on the computer at school. i this i have the answer just want some help before i go spend more money. the guy i bought it off of never put a new fuel pump on so its still running the factory pump which only runs at 1.5-2.5 psi and i read that the holly setup needs atleast 6psi...and im not sure what pump to go with...any help would be appreciated. i really want to get her runnin!

I know alot of people run the Holley Blue fuel pump. I have the red one. It works good for me. The red one pretty much maxes out at 6 or so, so the blue one would be best for your application. I am sure more people will jump in and give their opinions also.

NEW FUEL LINE FILTER FIRST then a new pump maybe then check over his work and see if he screwed up, It don't have to be a hot rock to be a fun car.
