Got a great 1980 RX-7 but he gas tank is NFG. need to locate one or one that will fit and work from another model. it is a carb car, so I need the fuel send and return ports, plus the feel line out of the tank. If anyone knows where I can find a tank, please let me know. I don't want to have to get a fuel cell. would like to keep the stock tank look. thanks everyone.
The only years that will fit is a 1979/1980 because of the spare tire size.
I just had one refurbished after the car sat for 30 years. They used MEK to remove 1/4 thick tar and then resealed it. They cut a couple of holes to get to all areas and also installed a drain plug. The 1979/1980 never came with drain plugs. If needed, they could have replaced/repaired the pickup/return lines.
The one you have can be fixed. Finding a used one is very difficult and you run into the same issues.
The only other option would be get a new 1984/1985 tank or a used 1981-1985 tank and then redo your spare tire tube to only fit a space saver instead of a full size spare.

If you are unable to find a tank, I would call around to some radiator shops and ask if they also restore gas tanks. If they don't perhaps they can point you in the right direction. Finding an SA gas tank in great condition will be extremely difficult.
Also on a side note, your car looks beautiful!! I love the colors and love the IMSA spoiler on the car!
