need to find a set of 14" or 15" wheels for my '83.

any suggestions?

i really like the way these look, but now i have a big dent in one and another one's missing a centercap. the part that sucks the most is the wheel is discontinued, so i won't be able to find a replacement wheel or cap

I know a friend whos got 5 of those, all great condition and all have their center caps. Tell me if your interested and I'll call him up and see what he wants for them. I'm goign there next week to get pics of 20+ parts cars and parts such as those wheels.

Anyone wanting parts, tell me and I'll check and see if this shop has any in their small parts yard. They got everything from turbo II's to 1983 GSLs and the likes. Everything you could want, even a glass roof for a 1979-1985. So, start sending me your requests @ pmkell01@hotmail.com and if you want those wheels, post here or do the same. THANKS!

How can you tell?

Every time I look at wheels, I see 15x7 or something.

I assume thats width and diameter of the rim. How can you tell bolt pattern and offset? Do you have to call the manufacturer?

Speaking of which, what is Offset? Is that how far in or out on the width of teh rim that the hub is?

Pele,
Yeah, 15 is the diameter and 7 is the width. As for bolt pattern, usually it's listed along with the rim size. If not, you'd have to contact the seller.

4x11omm for the non-SE's
4x4.5inch for SE's

I think the offset is the distance from the exact center of the wheel to the center of the bolt hole, but I'm only qbout 70% sure.

Anyways,
www.tirerack.com has some rims to fit the non-SE's.

What you wanna try to get a hold of is the '83 LE rims. Mazda issued the LE (Limited Edition) for a brief time in '83 came with a Targa style roof, leather interior, and 14" BBS style rims in the 110mm pattern...Gold with silver edging. I was lucky and found a set in a local junkyard. Probably weren't snatched up by the local Days of Thunder guys due to the odd 110mm 4-bolt pattern...

Right on!

I got 5 of those 1983 Limited Edition wheels for sale!! I should have pics up by tonight or the weekend for sure. Also I have over 20 parts cars ranging from 1979-1991. N/A and Turbo II's. I'll be posting pics up of these on my website and then sending the links to you guys on here whenever there is a request for a part. So, start sending me request for parts at my e-mail addy and I'll be glad to check the stock and get pics if I have them for certain parts. I'll have basic profile pics of cars and some interiors to start off with. THANKS! And if you want those wheels tell me, there are 5, great condition, with all center caps (none missing), G'day!

denny, the 83 limited edition is a gs with special paint and the 14" rims other than that its a totally stock gs, all the books i have read in also back this up. mine has silver centers on the rims but i think they repainted them because its flaking off. other than that is a or was a plain old gs, a/c power mirrors, cruise, sun roof

are the panasports lighter than the stock rims? are the race rims not street legal or is it that they are too weak to run on the rough roads that we travel? Otherwise I would think these would be lighter and therefore more appropriate for racing.

The Panasports i have come in 2 configs. Standard wheel for street & and the ultra lights for racing, (All) ultra lights are stamed on the rim lip they say ultra light not DOT or for street use. You can run ultra lights on the street but if you curb them there toast. Stick with the street series, My 15X7s with tires are lighte than my stock 13X5.5s with tires. Panasports are not cheap casted wheels like Konigs. Koniogs look nice and are cheap but thats the only benifit to those wheels.

As the old saying goes (You get what you pay for).

If you buy cheap wheel you get cheap wheels, and no other wheel manufacturers to my knowlage make wheels this light
that can match Bolt pattern, Light Wheight, and Quality. This company has been around longer than most of you have been alive. OH sh-t I sound like a Panasport saleman again, Ill shut up now.

I love my Panasports

Just paint the centers whatever color you want, they come standard silver painted center w/polished lip then clear-coated.
But if you want them a diferent color just order them bare/no paint. And you can paint/clearcoat them yourself, or have them done by a paint shop.
