Unhappy need advise in selling

I hate to do this....I drove my red hot '83 from Texas to my new home in Minneapolis last year. Suffice it to say, it's now a summer car. I need to sell it and get something I can drive all year long. I stored it during the winter. I have no idea what to ask for it. I'm thinking of selling it on e-bay. My mom was the previous owner. It's always been a Texas car, so there's absolutely no rust. She had the engine rebuilt 2 years ago. So, do I note that? The OD says 154K, but considering the rebuilt rotary...what does that say about mileage? I've never sold a car before, so I need some advice. The pics will speak for themselves, but what more would an RX7 fan want to know about it? I need to know what to include in the verbiage. Thanks!

People will want to know what "model" of RX-7 it is (GS, GSL, special edition), and they will want to know if any mods have been done to the car - wheels, suspension, exhaust, stereo, tinting, etc.

Look on the web page www.cars.com. Look up used cars Mazda, Rx7, Prices @ 5000 and less, Choose 500 mile radius, See what list appears. This will give you an idea of the value of the Rx7 you have.

Wish I had some money, I would make you an offer. I am trying to regenerate an 83 that is in bad shape.

Best of Luck.

Thumbs up

Thanks a lot, y'all. This has been so helpful. I have no idea if it's a GL, etc.. I'll have to review the info. It's really beautiful and my mom had a lot of work done on it, so it's got to be worth more than some of the prices I'm seeing. The prices are so varied- anwhere from $600 to $4K!!! I've had no problems with this car, and I've got a lot of the mech history. Like I said, it's got a practicly brand new engine. The carb was rebuilt, too. It has the most awesome body I've ever seen on an RX7. Mom had the (original RX7 red) paint redone a couple of years ago, so that's stunning. The sunroof is detachable. There are louvres for the back window. The interior, which is black, is perfect except for a couple of rips in the seats. I've always had covers on them. There's serious (Texas) tint on the windows. The only problems I've had are 1. weatherstripping is dry and cracking 2. windows sometimes get off the track but I think that's a weatherstripping prob too 3. the passenger door latch needs to be replaced, and 4. electric stuff. I've read some info on this site about the electrical probs that RX7's notoriously (?) experience. I had to disable the overhead light because it would buzz, and sometimes when it feels like it, the stereo stops working, but then it comes on the next time I start the car. Just weird stuff. So, I'm thinking of asking $2500. Do y'all think that's a good deal, considering the positives and negatives?
