You can get "Riv Nuts" at a bike shop that are used for water bottle cages. At least I have them at mine, The only thing might be the size, however they look about the same size as the one in the pic.

Good Luck,
Kevin

Those look like they should do the job. I hope the pic of the fender you posted is not your's. That's not how I showed you to do it and it's wide open for water, allowing the fenders to start rusting out.

They have 6mm which is .236 inches, that would also have a 10mm head for convenience.

You can use a special tool, but I use a over sized nut, washer, and a long bolt. You use a wrench to hold the nut in place and you tighten the bolt (with a washer under the head) until it compress the riv nut to your liking. Also with the over sized nut you can put scour marks on the side that will be up against the riv nut so it will grip it better.

My only concern with using this type of fastener is if it will penetrate the inner fender. You don't want that to happen. If the pockets for the flares are high enough up, it won't be an issue. If they do get into the inner fender, I would shorten the insert. Other than that, I think they are an elegant solution.

I think the pockets on the flares are high enough and it will clear the inner fender without a issue..

Sounds good. Would you take pics during the process and do a 'How To' writeup, including the fender trimming. You can use my pics if you wish and I have a few more if you need them. I'm sure many would be interesed in this. Had I been able to find flares that I liked, beside the CP crap, I might have gone that route instead of the widebody. Since the bodywork is done though, I have no regrets going as extreme as I did, other than the need for more offset in the front wheels and scraping/catching/cracking the front air dam and one fender.
