Need advice on TII swap

I'm looking to do a TII swap into a GSL-SE and was wondering what year motor I should try to get. I think one has a mechanical oil sending unit and one has an electrical one... dunno if that makes a difference or not...

Also if anyone knows a good reputable place that would sell a complete swap or even a front clip, that would be very useful. Hopefully I can get all this sorted out and be on my way to TII heaven soon.

Thanks guys

yes the S4 has a mech. and the S5 has an electric OMP. if you go S5 you need to get a S4 omp. also if you dont go stand alone you have to get the S4 computer and wiring harness and the S4 afm.

I'd go with the 13b-RE from the J-spec cosmo..Almost like slapping an REW in there and SE front cover fits..

Hey, im putting a s5 in my 85 GS and thats a 12a! Most of the info i get from this forum is based on -se swaps. And so far everything is gravy. Then again, maybe I'm overlooking some stuff. So far I havent run into any crazy different issues, and my 12a front cover worked fine. What you will need though is an oil pan from a -se.

Ay specific questions you can ask me and I MIGHT know the answer, but then again, I might not. Only one way to find out...

yes you will need an SE oil pan... or get a 13b oil pan and drill holes so it fits the 1st gen front coverplate. its better just to get the SE oil pan tho.

also you will need a modified motor mount plate. you know the one that connects to the front coverplate and the mounts. Racing beat sells them.

Thanks for the responses guys, I'm still trying to decide but its good to know that there is a lot of help in this forum if you need it.

On the 13b-re cosmo motor, it fits right in, with an SE front cover? And, isn't that a twin turbo motor?

I was looking on FC3S.org and they're showing the J-Spec cosmo 13b-re as twin turbo... just wanted to clarify
