Need a 84-85 GSL-SE Expert!

Hey guys,
Here is the scoop. Bought back my old 85 SE from a kid for 600(weird how it came back to me, didnt even know the guy!). It apparently had a fuel leak and motor caught fire(small). It toasted the wiring harness, injectors, fuel rail and some other stuff. If I can email someone the pics they will see the damage. I am not totally familiar with 85 like I am with 94's. I basically need someone to tell me what I need to replace. Any help would be appreciated! I would post pics here but they are big. Please email me and I can respond with the pics.

Also if anyone in CT has an 84-85 SE that would let me take a look at theirs to compare what I need it would be a HUGE help! I can digital pics to help me find the parts.

Thanks in Advance

Do you intend to modify the car? If you do and don't have to pass emissions, most of the stuff under the upper intake can be eliminated.

If not, ignore me. I'm no -SE expert, I only had one.

All the solenoids that are under the upper intake, and you can buy a block off plate for the ACV valve that's on the lower intake (don't know how bad the fire was). That'd leave you with replacing the injectors, engine harness, fuel rail, probably the TPS and BAC valves, and I'm sure I'm forgetting other stuff.

I own 2.. does that make me an expert??

Here's a picture of my black SE's engine bay. It's pretty much stock. To keep it FI, you'll need to keep all the solenoids. Swap in an RB exhaust and you'll be dumping: air pump, ACV, misc hoses associated with air pump, you can dump your AC too and all the hoses =), and getting a cone filter will allow you to dump the large and heavy filter box.
This is the engine compartment of my red SE.

Rotary13B1,
Thanks! Can you take closer pics of the passenger side engine bay so I can see what to eliminate? Email them to bigdog8643@aol.com
Thanks

Sounds like the boat I might be in if I can come up with the money, lol

Theres a guy out by my house who has an 85 GSL-SE that has had an engine fire (also small), but he said I could have the car for $500. I ust want it to swap the suspension off of, take some fenders, and then part out the rest. Or, I might strip the interior, engine bay, and whatever then slap a carb on it and have some fun .

Not being an SE expert by any means.. you pretty much do need everything in there working for the car to run except for what Rotary13B1 said... the airpump, acv and associated stuff once you go with a headered exhaust system or cat replacement pipe with 6 port sensing tube.... or go with an aftermarket computer eliminating everything altogether.
Hey Andy dont you like fan shrouds?

DUHHH... weight reduction??? I was just too lazy to put them back on, needle gets to about 6:30 position anyways. But I'm planning on a black magic fan soon.
