name your odd car parts

ok just sitting here thinking....what is the rarest car(fb) part you have or have seen. Im not talking about a custom 1 off thing.... like the purple barney body kit or my headlight kit. I personaly have the chrome luggage rack bar peice that goes right behind the back of the seats on the metal bar in the hatch area. Its made to hook the stock straps to and it helps keep the bags from flying forward. I think the RAREST thing i have seen is a hard hatch cover like a fc and fd have.... it was on ebay. it hooked to the struts so it opened when the rear hatch was opened and it covers the hatch area from prying eyes.

How about sunroofless first gens those are kinda rare i have 2 and a half. Some jerk put in aftermarket one in the v8 car
how about the back panel that says rx-7 instaed of just being black between the tail lights.
Factory rear spoilers just got one of those.
Also to my surprise i also have luguage rack in oen fo my new cars i just got.
There are alot of little things that are hard to find that are rare kinda like a treasure hunt everytime i go look at one.

I have that key, also. Does yours open the glove box & storage bins? Mine doesn't.

Yup. Mine opens every thing...

Sounds like yours might be a Vale (sp) key.

Se you give that one to the parking attendant and then he can't open every thing in the car.

Never thought of it being a valet key. Wonder if I can get the glove box & bin locks re-keyed?

Ooh, ooh, I've got something REALLY rare. A complete UNFADED black rear hatch carpet and plastic set. People make fun of the rear louvers but they sure do work to protect the rear interior... the seats in my '7 are the '81-'83 non-adjustable headrest type, I haven't seen too many of them. The center console on mine (where the power window switches would be) is one large coin tray, no cutouts for anything and no armrest. Also have bins with unbroken lid hinges. The prize would have to be my urethane IMSA airdam. I don't see many of them around, all firberglass....

I have an extremely rare set of 13" alloy wheels for RX4 that were only available as an option, a set of 13" '79 LE wheels, and seven 14" '83 LE wheels.

I have 83 LE rims, Those are kinda rare. I also drive a S daily, they seem to be kinda rare, most of the 7's I know of are GS and higher, I've only seen a handful of the base models.

i see a lot of those base model... I've only seen 4 GSL-SE where i live since i've come to known rx-7's... i see alot of convertable rx-7...

another rare thing is a switch right next to my dimmer switch where the choke would be if it was carburated... it starts the car no matter what... i've never seen a switch in anyother GSL-SE that i've seen both running and in the yard... I'll take a pic of it...

and the key thing... i think i have one of that too that opens up the bins and the glove box...

a rare thing between 84 and 85 GSL-SE is this check valve that goes in front of the intake manifold for the LATE 85 GSL-SE's and the early 85 and 84 don't have this check valve

Because editing a post would be far too difficult

About the rarest part I have is the owners manual and the original rubber piece that holds the rearview in place.

Oh yeah - funfact. After you've pulled the rats nest, you can trim one of the solenoid tubes to about 1 1/2-2 inches long and put it on the rearview - works as good as the stock one, and if you pick your hose properly - it will even be straight!

Yeah, I have the same stuff for my car. Actually, I have the owners manual, and the "maintenence sheet" thingy too.

I also made my own rear view mirror thing that your talking about from my old rats nest crap too, but I do have the original from my 83 GSL .
