It's time for everyones favorite game!!
So I picked up this tranny that was "rebuilt" not too long ago for my 12a blowthrough build, and well it was dark when I picked it up and didn't notice the ribbing on the bellhousing. and the fact that it's missing a sensor. So here's some pics.. it;s next to my original 81 12a trans for comparison. Length and shifter placement is the same, as well as trans mount location.....
So?

your right now i remeber that.
It cant be a t2 tranny they all have removable bell housings.
It has to be a pre 85 maybe even a 60's i would guess but they length maybe a station wagon like the rx3 with twin dizzy?
but i would lean twords that or repu.

thanks for all the reply's guys.... so here's the other interesting note. Obviously the bellhousings are different, which by most everyone's opinions would be an FC bellhousing. But that would mean that if this were an actual FC trans that the trans mount would be different, and well, they are identical. Also, the yoke that is in the back of it fits fine in 12a trans I pulled out.
So i'm wondering if this is an FC bellhousing swapped onto a 12a gear box? Kind of a weird thing to do don't you think?

So I sent a few pics to Robert at Rotary Shack and he seems to think it's either an early model trans (RX3 or the like) or possibly an early 12a turbo trans. Mostly due to the lack of (i think) the neutral safety switch mounted on the tailshaft just where the shifter tube goes into the dog box.
This new tranny just has a blind hole.... no threads or anything. Plus it's missing a few other sensors to be an FC trans, especially an S5. Any old-skoolers have any input?
