Yeah Coldy, If it warms up for a day, we can race around a little. I still have a feeling to put my toy away, but I think I'll do that before winter. if not, then after winter. Are you planning on a bigger turbo? that will be really cool if we both have to4's by spring time......yeeeee hawww

They arent vette taillights, those are mazda lights! Just like the old school r-100 and RX-3! Signal Stat made them, I know , its a vette look, but I still like it way more than the old looking lights.
As far as Miriah goes, I dont know, I didnt get mine from them, they make a similar setup replica, but its special order only, and cost around $3000.00 and then the wing is another $700. I guess e-mail them and see if they are still doing them.

I want to lower it more so bad! but it handles so good I'm afriad to change anything. The front end also scrapes over everything already, so I dont know if I can lower it more. Believe it or not its already sitting 2" lower than stock, its just that body kit was made for race cars, and they sit much lower than a street car can.

I plan on doing a hybrid- stock exhaust side, to4 compressor, with an external wastegate. But I'm fine with my car for now. Once I put on the MSD 6a and the 2 TII intercoolers then I'm done upgrading until I put in a streetrpot engine, which will be at least 1 year.

I need to get a daily driver before I get too crazy with this car anyway

Oh yeah , if i can get it painted in time, and put the to4 in it, I want to enter the "ultimate street car challenge" just to see what it could do in sport compact car. That would be fun

i meant that the tail lights make me think of a corvette first...im a fan of the original units...maybe with LED bulbs....but thats another discussion.

$3000.00? thats in USD i guess...so much money...so worth it...i will have to think, there are plenty of nice kits for $1000 bucks...so i might go that route.

I think I like your hood the most....very nice, very tasteful...i may have to copy you...if you dont mind (or if you do)

haha, yeah that is nice, I was goin for a more purpose than show car, making as good of a race car for the street type thing. I have rear lexan windows, but for as much as I get pulled over, the cops wouldnt like them too much! You can copy my stuff, just wait until I get into a magizine, then all of it is fair game. I'm trying to stay original, you know be different from the rest. Good luck with your project, and remember, (as I will soon have across my back bumper) "cut your own line"

that is a pic of a real race car...i am building a race car that i can drive on the street and the track...i bought a perfect '83 GS chassis which was rust free, and put in all of my mechanicals from my '83 GSL (which was not rust free) inculding the rear end...my engine has ported headers, and a custom exaust manifold...it makes 150 BHP (est.) and very modified emissions (canada is very slack, never look under the car).

when i get her all together maybe we could meet in wisconsin and see who is faster!

Im also designing a hydrolic spoiler which i can deploy at speed (simmilar to the boxter)....i like the look of a clean rear so much.

NO, not at all, its cool to meet other rx-7 guys!! Once you get your car together, I would love to race through corners, seriously I havent found a single car yet on the street that can take me through a bend, vettes, scooby's, you name it. Of course it takes a rx-7 to beat a rx-7!! Sounds like your on a good path right now, have any pics? Oh yeah, you did mean racing through the corners right? My car is putting out 250 rwhp right now, and soon hopefully more once I get the stock turbo off.....so I dont know about straight line....

he he he...sounds like fun...i love the twisties. i have a "race track" set up near my house...its only a set of roads that never get used, but it is so beautiful...my fav corner is a tight 90 degree right...100 meters of straight then a tight 90 degree left....oh so nice.

I think im kinda old school...i love porsche...and the rule at porsche is first you make it as light as possible, then you add power untill the chassis is satisfied. my goal is to get the weight down to 1800lbs...or 500 less than stock. so i figure that by stripping the interior (done), replacing the glass with lexan and replacing as much steel with glass fiber as posible i should be able to make 85 bhp/ton...which is very close to lotus elise territory.

I think it looks like you put a lot of work into it, and it was worth the time. Other than that, I don't think it looks like anything even close to an RX-7. If you must go widebody, go Mariah. Great work, but that's my opinion.

WHAT???!!! Doesn't look like an RX-7? I think you might have missed that the widebody kit on that car is an ORIGINAL FACTORY racing kit used by mazda in the 1981-85 championships.

That kit is the only REAL RX-7 widebody kit.

they are two peice bolt on hub adapters. I didnt want to go that route , but it was the cheapest way.

Thanks Coldy! That is what friends are for! I agree though, it is one of the only real mazda body kits, it looks so much smoother than the others I've seen. But hey everyone has a taste they like.

That is a acrylic Laquer, from sherwin williams. I asked for a flat black color, but not primer, to temporary seal it up until the real paint goes on. Metallic blue is coming!!
