My RX7 Finally.

Well, after many months I got this done. It's been done for about two or more months now, but it's now back in the shop for me to do more work to her.

My speaker panel. The speakers are new but I need more lows. I think 1 8" woofer in back might do it for sound.

Me working hard. Damn intake gasket. Excuse the messy shop and engine compartment.

Our shop...Really dirty.

Unfortunitly one night I blacked out and hit a sign. There was MINOR damage to the quarter panel which will be fixed in the next few weeks.

I am building a false floor for the back as the carpet thing was covered in glass. The previous owner had it broken into and never cleaned it.

Thats all for now, Ill update when I find more pictures.

Chris!

Love the paint job! The car looks great man. I think mine is exactly the same(When it comes to the motor) You will soon find out that the oil cooler is a bitch, just keep that oil line tight b/c it likes to leak! I like it though!

2fast - Thanks for the compliment. I'm sure soon enough Im going to find all the horrible things about owning a rotary.

yetterben - Thanks as well. What oil filter do you recommend? Also, what oil?

Mazda - The color is actually a land rover color from 1998 I think. I think it suits the car perfect. Thanks! Im building a false floor and then using the vinyl I used for the speaker panel to cover it. It matches the factory vinyl and plastic color perfect. I had to redo the door panels in it. I'm also getting new springs and shocks, hopefully an exhaust and a new front fache. We'll see what Santa brings, right?

Mike - Thanks! I hope the 8" will be fine. I had two cheap 10"'s in my Eclipse but that is WAY too much for the Mazda. I like the Mazda because I get more respect from older guys and with the Eclipse I had more ricers interested. Lame.

Pino - The suspension is 'stock' I think. I say stock only because it appears to be. The guy who sold it to me mentioned nothing other than a new clutch about 3,000 miles ago. Soon the RESPEED springs will be on order along with shocks. I hate the stance. I also plan on either getting the GSL axel and front suspension so I can upgrade the wheels the right way and be able to rally it (which I havent done) or do it strictly for looks with the wheel spacer things.

drop a memphis mojo 15" in there with 1500 W RMS in it like i got in my SA. the hatch glass actually bends, and the gauges jump everywhere. it will give you that extra bass.

Very clean FB, color looks awesome. There is nothing wrong with Fram filters contrary to popular belief. I've used them for years as well as my family members and never a problem. Is it just me or does it look like i has no right rear shock or spring?

that could be a bit excessive. With a set up like that and an amp to power it, with a driver in the car you must be near the weight limit of the car lol

kind of off topic but someone did a research thingy and found they use sub par components. Its around somewhere i found it last night using a search but its mixed feelings like alot of things here. Some people wont touch em, some people have used nothing but and had no problems

ill try and find the thread link for you, or just search fram oil filter and itll come up

hey chris what kind of suspension does it have. Just looks really high in the back, higher than alot of the other 7's ive seen. Or maybe everyone ive seen has worn out suspension or aftermarket drop suspension

I think its just regular droop. The wheel is probably just in a low spot in the grass.

i would use the mazda factory filter if you can get it! There shouldnt be any flameing over a fram. All i know is i personally belive i lost a rotary due to a fram. But that is besides the point. if you ever see a cut away of a fram you will know why. THey have thick carboard like paper inside. i would say its hard to flow threw such a filter. But thats just me. Other than that car looks good.

jshiz - I hope mine will be cleaner within the next few weeks. Time will only tell though.

81gen1 - The most I will go is a single 10". 15" is too big for my liking.

Firebird - Thanks for the compliment. Who knows, maybe the next oil change I'll pick up a mazda filter. I change the oil less than 2000 miles into it so that might be way more expensive if I go that route.

dj - the suspension that I know of is stock. Until it gets changed for spring.

SD93 - Thanks for the compliment!

yetterben - Thanks as well!

wow that is a FANTASTIC color, I would never own a red car because of the cops around here but still....did you do the paint yourself? (is that your little paint booth in the back?) if not where did you have it done and how much $$$ did you spend, I really want to paint mine a dark metallic silver.
