My Rx7

About one month ago I traded my daily driver for a non-running 79SA white with black stripes down it great looking car...

now my wife says i cant have 2 two seater cars so i am forced to sell one........

i got the rx7 running almost the way it should except those dam secondarys....

dont know what these cars are worth but considering selling this or my rabbit...

now the rabbit is a nice car i could get 4-5 thousand out of it.....
and i could put a 4 rotor to put in this gen one or sell the gen one and put more into the rabbit....

my question is what is a 79SA worth? and running well how easy is it to sell?
thanks

Chris

fuuny you are ok in in backround is a 86 ford ranger that isnt worth.02

my rabbit ? forged pistons, crank, rods,t4,hks intercooler, crossflow head, built tranny, 83gti body and 043efi standalone.......

and it is white with black stripes as well....

some of the locals on this site know me and can attest how fast my first build was with no goodies...

i can post pics of the rabbit though if you want....

Chris

But to get back to the orignal content what is the SA worth?

Sell the rabbit and mod the SA. You won't be sorry. I guarantee you'll get addicted and be having 10 times more fun with the 7 than you ever though possible. That's a pretty nice looking 79, and if it was in great mechanical condition then you might be able to pull 3k out of it depending on what the interior looks like. You've got some rare parts on it though that are worth a considerable amount just by themselves. Those mesh wheels and the spoiler are pretty rare. The wheels are probably worth $250, the spoiler maybe $100-$150. You could probably get another $150 out of that glass moonroof too. That's another pretty rare item.

Overall, you've got a nice looking 79 with several rare parts on it. It would make a fantastic candidate to build up if it is rust free. Check your storage bin area for rust before you start throwing money at it.

Wait... cancel that part about the glass sunroof. It looks like it is aftermarket. The OEM glass sunroofs can fetch quite a bit but that doesn't look like one of them. Nevertheless a nice looking SA. Have fun with it. I hope you keep it.

Ya, it does look great. I think those wheels are worth more than that though..probably around 450 if they are all in that good of shape. It looks good and you will defiantely have more fun with the 7 than the rabbit unless your not normal . With 5k to spend on a first gen performance wise, you can be fast.

Unless you need the extra room that the A1 will give you, go with the SA.

The handling between the two just cannot be compared even with a good suspension kit on the Rabbit.

I had a nicely worked A1 GTI (Tokico blues and Eibach springs, 205/55-14 Yokohamas, upper and lower front strut bars, and front and rear sway bars) and my 84 GS handles much better than it - more fun to drive, flatter in the turns.

Also, while both engines are great, the Rotary cannot be beaten when it comes to the fun-to-drive factor and ease of getting more power out of it. You've got many choices, carb, turbo, exhaust, etc. and a great forum like this to help you through the whole process.

Additionally, the correct wheels are driving the car - unlike the Rabbit.

Talking

You know I'm always on the 7 side. If you do decide to sell that Rabbit, you could make one quick little monster out of that SA.
Like Tom said let us know if you decide to sell th SA. We will make sure it goes to a good home for ya.

Chris

i just dont have the time right now.....
I go back to school in 2 weeks and really wont focas on this car i mean i do want to keep it but i think i am goona let it go and save up for a 95 twin....

The car needs a good home i and i just saved it from death.... car has a bunch of new stuff on it and some cool goodies.....

I even have some stuff that i bought that goes with the car that i never installed car runs good right now and is hard to start when cold becouse i couldent figure out the choke when i rebuilt it so ya it has a rebuilt carb, rebuilt master slave cylinder, ceramic front brake pads i rebuilt all 4 calipers, have brand new points in the box still bought 2 weeks ago and..... a new fuel filter.

i have ran 4 tanks of gas through it and it runs pretty good needs rear brake pads though..... they are on order still...

well the purpuse of selling the car is to get a four door car out of it.... so open to trades as well.
Just rergistared and put good tags on it...
