My Rx-7 had a heart attack! :(

It happened on my 3rd run on a Autocross race. I just got around a hard corner. Then I downshifted and then my Rx start acting really weird. Kinda felt like it was almost out of gas. I kept going and finished the race. I was flooring it the whole time in second gear. And I never got above 4,000 ??? I got back to my spot in the grid. Then I let off the gas. And it slowed died

(Side note: We had a total of five runs that day. And I only had 2 good runs. And I got 2nd in my class I could have gotten a lot better if I had finished all five runs!! Oh, well.)

I still though it was out of gas so we tried to push start it. As soon as I let out the clutch. The tires locked up?? Then a tow truck guy there took a look at my engine. He used a big breaker bar to see if the engine froze. And it wasn't! So he broke it loose. Then I tried to start it. It turned over for maybe 1/4 of a second then it got stuck again. He broke it loose again. Then I tried to start it again. Same thing. So does that mean something is loose in the engine. Maybe a gearing tooth?? I know I might need a new engine. But I wanted to check with the experts.

And I also tried to find answers with the search engine. But no luck

Sounds like an apex seal went and jammed itself into an exhaust port, seizing up the motor . If it is you're fucked dude.

Maybe a bearing spun? That's how my RX-2 engine locked up.

Probably not... but your going to end up doing it anyways... rip off your cats if you have any and then try the car.. if its a plugged cat you could have that running out of gass feeling...

If its the other thing (blown apex) you'd be ripping out the engine anyways.. thats why I would go there first..

The deal with the breaker bar confused me.. was it actually "stuck" on something or was he able to move it freely and just cycle out the gasses?

Id say you threw a rod and its locking the motor up

Nah seriously sounds like its time to take the motor apart and see the damage
