My project thread
So I've decided to embark on a few projects that will probably take my RX-7 off the road all summer, if not all year. This thread will be used to catalouge my progress and ask for suggestions as I go along.
Here's the scoop:
My current 12A has developed a pretty bad 'leak of death' and will need to be replaced fairly soon. I have the opportunity to get a 13B from a GSL-SE and all the associated hardware to make it work for a very decent price (thanks Manntis) and I've decided to take the plunge and go for the bigger motor. Now I want to keep the fuel injection for a number of reasons, one being the cost associated with purchasing a new carb and manifold, the other being the improve drivability and tunability of fuel injection. My intent is to get the engine running with the stock ECU.
Alongside the engine work, my car is in desperate need of bodywork and paint. I've put this off for a few years now and if I want to salvage my SA, I can't put it off any longer. I'll be doing some welding in the bin area, including repairing the upper trailing arm bracket, which has some minor rust starting from the bin-outward.
I'm going to document everything I can for the archives, not the least of which is the wiring changes needed to install the 13B since there isn't a clear cut how-to in the archives at this point. I'll also share how the repairs to the structural areas of the car progress and hopefully document the installation of a custom-made 4-point roll bar to help with rigidity issues.
Other mechanical issues that I'd like to address:
Rebuilding my LSD, which is very tired.
Upgrading to poly bushings in all feasible locations.
Lengthening the front lower control arms for increased camber adjustibility.
So there you have it. Right now I'm just getting started, so progress will be slow, but I'll continue to update this thread as new items get accomplished. Any suggestions or advice are greatly appreciated. Let's make this a great addition to the archive, shall we?

Nice idea. I always take tons of pictures when I work on something I haven't worked on before...makes it a lot easier to put back together. In the past I have documented such things on my own web site:
http://64mgb.home.mchsi.com/
or on my CarDomain site:
http://www.cardomain.com/ride/2114701
http://www.cardomain.com/ride/2114700
http://www.cardomain.com/ride/2114698
That way, not only do you have your work documented for yourself, but friends and family can keep up with your work as well.
I'll be keeping track of this thread...should be interesting.

Nice, I to would like to go to injection and a 13b but its gonna have to wait till the paint and suspension is done. check my project thread if you have the time and let me know if your leak of death is the same location as mine.
