I haven't tried to start the motor. There is no battery in the car and I'm not going to bother with it. I'll just open that motor up and re-use everything I can. But I want new seals and springs in it. Plus I want to go ahead and have the turbo and carb rebuilt. That way everything is brand new again and will be good to go.

If anything she went by Gloria Hayes and had minor roles throughout the '80s. This is according to the usually reliable site IMDB.

http://imdb.com/name/nm0371031/

Perhaps there is a record of this build somewhere?

Congrats Zach! Good luck with the restoration and all. It's great to finally see pics of her.

The actress on IMDB.com is Gloria Hayes. The original owner of this car was Gloria O. Hays. So that is a different person. I am supposed to be getting the original sales brochure and pics of the car when it was new. The original spec sheets are supposed to be coming up too. Hopefully there will be some really good info there for me.

Thanks Marc.

When do actresses go by their full/real names? Just a thought. If she did go by O. Hayes then she was a nobody with a very cool car!

If it doesn't make the car more reliable then it won't go on the car. Here's the mods I am figuring up so far:
1. Aluminum radiator (same size as stock though)
2. Ditch the bee hive
3. new exhaust (but not bigger, just new)

Other than that it will retain everything that was there when Mrs. Hays bought it.
an new k&n air filter might be a good idea too...

do you paln on tuning the carb a and posibly raising the boost too?

Preston, of course it will have a nice new air filter. And yes, the carb will get tuned in accordingly. Chris at Wolf USA will be doing the tuning as he is very well versed with carb setups too. But no, I am not going to raise the boost above the stock level. I just want it back to new condition.

It'll be heading south on the I-5 for SS10 next year Wacky, but that's about it bro.

Masin, I used to live in Charleston, SC before I moved out here. You aren't missing anything. And I was actually thinking about painting the aluminum rad black too. Good idea.

Preston, I'm not going to streetport the engine per say. But I am going to "clean up" the ports just a little bit to help with spool up. It won't be like the uber port that my TII had though. Just a clean up/small streetport.

Holy crap! $450!!!!!!! I know what you should do: feel guilty, and give it to ME to asuage your guilt. Yeah, that's it.

Wow Zach, quite the find. I'm impressed. Amazing condition considering and only 17K!!!???!!!

Can't wait to see it go through the restoration process here. *subscribe*

Yeah Paul, I'll get right on the whole giving the car to you thing. I'll keep this thread full of updates and pics as things move along. I should be able to make some serious progress on the interior this weekend.

I haven't checked my email yet. I'll check it when I get home from work today.

Node, thanks for the compliments. Yeah, a draw through 4brl. No water or alky injection though. I don't want to mod this car out. I'm sure you know where I'm coming from.
