It's still not finished after a few months worth of gathering parts and at least a grand later...

I think I'm going to have to get a different pump that's compatable with my AN lines or that at least has interchangable fittings (preferrably NPT) so I can adapt my AN lines to them...

 

I have a walbro, was easy to find -AN adapters for it . .

 

That was my original plan-to use an in-line Walbro pump, but the salesman at Jeg's talked me into the damn MSD unit I've got. I planned on having -06AN as the smallest ID in the entire system, but the MSD pump has a fixed outlet with a 5/16" OD brass barbed fitting, and I don't want to have to adapt that to the AN lines and fittings with hose clamps and cheap line, you know? I've wired in a relay and used nice Casper Electronics brand GM weatherpack kit connectors to power the pump, but it looks like I'll have to go through the wiring again when the MSII's installed. I'll probably just get the Walbro soon-at least before I install the MegaSquirt. The car's not running at the moment anyway, and the body work's not even done yet (the car's at the body shop right now, getting prepped for paint), so I've got some time before I actually need it...

 

The Walbro's a good pump. Some of the Bosch units are good bets, too. I don't know who makes the MSD pump, but the Walbro and Bosch units are OEM quality, which means they aren't likely to fail. The OEMs absolutely require near faultless performance because they can't afford the warranty costs if those things fail frequently.

 

Hell yea, that's what I'll do then just as soon as I get a couple of other projects knocked out. Thanks for the info and help guys...
