My new GSL-SE with 22,000 miles
My new GSL-SE with 22,000 miles
I found this car just 15 minues from home... a 84 GSL-SE with just over 22,000 miles. Brought it home today.... if you ever wondered what these cars were like new, let me tell ya, I have a taste. No play in the wheel.... smooth.... relatively quiet. And the real hatch stays up too!

Two of the original Pirelli P6 tires... original bolts in the licence plate.... power steering and leather. All real damn clean!

Going to hang on to this one for a while

I'm feelin' the love....
I found it in, of all places, Hemmings! Been there for a while too. Estate sale; turns out the owner was a retired engineering professor, at this was the last of his four RX-7s to be sold. Apparently, last year, there was another 1st gen, a 2nd gen convertible... all in his barn located in northern Michigan. also turns out that he had four boats converted to rotary power! Would have like to have met this guy.
One of the goodies still in the barn is a cutaway engine... yep, some sort of custom thing the prof did to show the workings of a rotary. Can't wait to take a look at that goodie!
The car isn't perfect. The wheels look marginal; the glass roof is missing; there's a chip near the antenna, and a half dozen very slight stone chips up front. And no, it's not as fast as the RX-8.... I'll get more pics later or tomorrow.

We get snow just like you. Also, it sounds as if this car's home was further North than Northville.
Michigan uses more salt per mile of road than any other state...I would also guess they use more than most of Canada's Provinces.
This car was obviously never driven in the winter and properly stored by someone who knew how to take care of a car.
Oh BTW pjr, that is an awesome find. I have been toying with the idea of getting a nice unmolested GSL-SE to keep.
