Smile My new alternator

I put in my new alternator finally. It is a 86 - 88, 70a alternator. This alternator seems bigger and wider. I put it on and the part that the long bolt goes thru is wider. So there is room between the bracket and the end of the alternator. Do i need to fill that space with a bushing or washers? Or is it fine. Need answer please. It works fine though. Just curious if that space can be damaging.

I would put some washers on there to fill in the space just to be safe. I think otherwise the alt may move in and out slightly. Probably wouldn't hurt anything major. May wear out the belt faster, though. I have an 89-91 alt on my SE and didn't need any extra spacers, but since my car is 13B, that is probably why. Congrats on the intall.
