ok heres the run down on the car.
12???? miles
runs better then the black one.

price $300.00 !!!!!!

how you ask?

ok heres the deal for you rotary rookies,
there is a small relay under the dash on 84-85 models "not sure on earlier years"
it cuts both the fuel pump and the spark at the same time,
but will sometimes just cut the fuel "got me"

anyway i asked the guy selling it what was wrong with it and he said "i dont know,it was my son in laws car and he parked it one day then it just wouldnt start again"

i knew it had to be it but had to confirm without him knowing,

heres how you do it,
get in and turn the key.
yep thats it,
if you dont hear the pump "which you should,it is an out of tank electric"
then chances are that is it.

if your not for sure try cranking on a nice fully charged battery and if wants to start but when you give it gas it starts back from scratch then 99% this is your problem

to fix it you must locate the realy which can be done without removing any panels at all,
and cut just one wire,
if you hear the relay click then it was the problem

i bought the car,
did the trick,
and the guy was pissed watching me drive away.

since i have replaced or upgraded

fuel pump
fuel filter
carburator
cleaned cats
spark plugs
wires
oil change
you get the picture

tommorrow is gsl-se suspension swap part 2

hey whats your beef?
thought we where freinds?

anyway the guy was a total *******,
he made fun of the car a ton of times while i was there,
it wasnt even his car it was his son in laws and his son in law was a doctor or some **** like that,
so im sure he didnt need it anymore,
hence the low price.
i only took advantage of the situation,
im would never do that to a rotary fan

Come on now... the guy was selling a non-running car for $300.00,... who should care if the person buying the car figured out how to make it run, least of all the previous owner who probably spent too much time and money on it and got so upset with it not running in spite of the money he threw at it....if it where me, I'd say good luck to ya~!

I got the same A/C unit with the damn upper hose running across the hot start relay cable in the '84. I ditched the hot start so it wouldn't rub off the rest of the insulation. My car has no power steering, however. Thanks for the heads up on ordering belts...

Oh, that changes it then. I apologize. I had this mental picture in my head of some poor little old guy who didn't know **** about the car and you with an evil smile on your face as you get the car started and drove away. If he was a jerk then **** him. Really, I'm sorry. Good luck with your project.
