Cool My interior pics.

I've been seeing a lot of ?'s and pics of other peoples interiors. I thought I would post my pics. Any GOOD comments are welcome. If you totally hate it, please don't say so. My ego has taken enough damage the past few months with my frickin girlfriend.

I know its not the best, but I try. I still have to clean up all the dust and wash the windows and everything yet. But when I am done, it will be pretty nice looking, for a 22 year old car. Before you ask, the guages in the center piece are just cheapies. There is an oil pressure gauge, water temp, and ammeter. The water temp gauge broke when I was installing it so it isn't functional and the ammeter just isn't hooked up yet. So for the most part, they are just for show. Everything else is functional though.

I thought I had a pic of my seats, but I don't. They were really badly torn, so my mom stitched the tears up for me and I put some seat covers on them. Yes, they are flames and say Hotwheels at the top, but they look sweet IMO.

I'm just saying that I probably couldn't handle too much flaming right now. I broke up with my GF a month ago because she wasn't over her last BF. That hurts you know. Makes me seem almost inadiquate. But then I have a weird way of thinking sometimes. It also doesn't help that she was my first real GF and I thought it was going to last longer than it did. Don't bother trying to talk about that. I know someone will.

I put a lot of time into some of those interior parts (ie, the addapters for the 5.25" speakers and the center piece for the dash).

yeah, some simple green should take car of the dust for you. I like the gauges, makes it look more Ferrarish to me. Man, I love Ferraris.......

I may just steal your idea and add some gauges there myself. Where did you find your shift ****?

You know guys, all we had to do is put some Porshe or Ferrari emblems on our cars and (most) people wouldn't even know the difference. Sad to think, but could be fun at car shows!

Oh, and my 2 cents on the G/F subject.

My seven is where I go to vent. Especially when the wife is gettin on my nerves. I think spending time with your car is good meditation..... Best drug I know of!

Hey Yapa, don't worry about it. I'm recovering, with the help of my car and some very loving parents.

As for the gauges, I hope to get them all functional sometime. I have to get a new water temp gauge (as mentioned it was broke), and I just need to hook the other up. But like I said, everything has a function in this car. The shift **** is Alpina. I got it for christmas from my sis. You can get them from Walmart. You may not notice it right away, but it is about a half inch shorter with that **** than the stock ****. That shortens the shift by probably 1/4" in both directions. Its also a nice **** to hold. It doesn't screw on, it uses set screws to hold it on with a rubber bushing at the bottom of the hole to hold everything in place.

Damn slow typing fingers. You posted while I was typing this. Anyway, I really wanted to go to my car to vent. I was so pissed off that day. But both my cars were undrivable. The Buick I was driving at the time had bad breaks and the 7 didn't run right. I was left with my moms van, which isn't something you use to vent.

Those gauges look sweet! What kind are they? The colors of the numbers match the stock gauges pretty well. About the ex-GF,sounds like she has issues. Don't let her drag you into her problems, know what I mean? Let her deal with her own baggage, and move on. I know it sucks sometimes, and you will meet a lot of chicks who are going to mess with your mind, but there are some good ones out there. Just make sure you don't get dragged down into their soap-opera bullshit. You'll be OK man, time heals all.

me too. well... that AND crack.

85rotarypower, nice job on the interior. girls come and go on their own, but these cars need work and attention, so you're doing the right thing!

....btw I was kidding about the crack.

yeah, sure you were riofrio =D

85rotarypower:

I'm going to the garage and just messing around with the car. You know, pointless stuff that times time to do. So far, I have installed a engine, completely cleaned up the engine bay, sanded and repainted (gloss black) radiator supports, radiator, and a bunch of other stuff in there. Removed the rat's nest. And now, sanding and primering the whole damn thing til it gets ready for paint.

Of course, driving fast down a curvy road in Tenn is good venting exercise too. I can feel my own heart race and my pupils enlarge about 3x the size while I'm about to lose it in a curve-that rocks!

Thanks guys. Those comments just make it even more special to me. The speakers are Blaupunkt in the rear and Pioneer in the front. They sound great. I have a 12" Pioneer sub and Rampage amp that I will be putting in once I get the box done. But one step at a time now.

The gauges are just some cheapies I picked up at Canadian Tire on sale. I can't remember who they are made by, but they do look great. They have backlighting, which looks great also. The Tach is an Equus unit. Another cheap part that goes nicely with the car. Not too big, but big enough to be just in my view without moving my eyes much from the road.

I like the gauge panel - too bad you couldn't get all three in there. To do that, I ended up making a whole console panel - but then, mine's a '79 with an entirely different layout.
Here's mine.
BTW - I've never been a fan of ammeters. I think that a voltmeter tells you more about what's going on.
Nifty shift ****. Get some grills on those speakers!

a little effort gos a long way. it really looks good. the only things i do not like are the shift **** and steering wheel. other than that, i think it is a clean looking setup and you should be proud of yourself.

Thanks guys for the nice comments.

Anthrax, Everything was basically ready to be put in. I've been doing a little here and there for the interior, I just needed to get my wiring in order.

mazdaverx713b, the shift **** and the steering wheel are what I like best about the car. The shift **** seems to make things look a little updated (I can change the colour ring to black, and I'm thinking about it), while the steering wheel says "I'm an old school kinda car". I absolutely love the steering wheel though. Its the perfect size for me. I'm 6'3" tall and need a little more leg room.

Drj419, thanks. I am not totally impressed with the seats. But they do look better than seats with tons of tears in them.

I'm still trying to figure out what kind of floor mats I'm going to use. I was going to go with a blue and black themed interior, but I'm sort of swaying away from that. Blue seems too bright. I don't want to go with red because its way overused. These are the floor mats I was going to use:

Should I use them or go with black carpet type ones?
