My Idea for a sweet FB

Of course I want a monster FB, we all do!! Hoping for insite and ideas. I want to put a www.atkinsrotary.com 7" Supercharger on a bridgeported 12A or 13B. I will be using the setup for the street. I beleive the added lowend torque of the SC and the bridgeport's capability of reving will make a good combo. Don't know what to expect for hp#'s, Any ideas, suggestions, or opinions are appreciated.

i could be way off the mark here
but will a super charger be a bit a bit restrictive in the higher revranges

i remember reading that a turbo on a bridge port is less effective than a well done turbo on something like an extended or street port..

That's a good question!!! The 7" SC runs 15psi. I guess it would only be inefficient if the air demanded by the motor at a certain RPM was more then supplied by the SC at that RPM. But the SC's boost is directly related to the motor's RPM. So with this corilation, the SC would only be efficient if the max PSI or air pressure in the manifold of a bridgeported motor was equal to or less then 15psi. If the PSI is more at any time, there will be a dead spot where the motor's airflow will exceed the SC's and efficiency will drop.

I'm no expert. This is all idea's to me. Please keep it comming.
Soul Assasin has a turbocharged bridgeport motor; he makes BIG power too.

THANKS

Check out their site!! Dave Atkins took 1st place in the ET-1 race bracket at the NHRA Summit Import World National Race on September 30, 2001 with his '76 Cosmo. He went 8 elimination runs against 160 other cars and beat 'em all!!! The funny thing is his Cosmo is his daily driver with an Atkins Supercharged 13B!!

They have also posted some dyno results of their Superchargers:

All numbers are subject to change depending on manifold, exhaust, ignition, porting, etc. We used a 390cfm holley for carburetion.

Ported & Polished Four Port 13B with Seven Inch Supercharger

Horsepower: 275 HP
Torque: 184 lb-ft.
Boost: 10 lbs.

Ported & Polished Six Port 13B with Seven Inch Supercharger

Horsepower: 276 HP
Torque: 178 lb-ft.
Boost: 9 lbs.

If they can make 275hp on a street ported motor, a bridgeport should be a bit more.
Ideas, opinions, and comments still open.

Thanks guys

I feel paying $2200. for a supercharger and getting HP that were posted are not good,You can get close to that on al motor before going to forced induction.

I realize the price isn't exactly cheap. I have figured it up in my head and I would spend quite a bit on the Bridgeported rebuild and the SC. I guess the most appealing thing is the reliability of a carb/SC setup and the fact that everyone and their brother does TII swaps to FBs. My main concerns is if the SC would work well with the bridgeported motor. I have heard of lots of guys running bridges on the street with no problem as long as it wasn't CONSTANT stop and go traffic. I am still waiting for a reply from Dave Atkins on all of this.

Keep it coming guys,
ALL insite is appreciated
