I think that car is a Nissan 300ZX or something.
There is a 1st gen RX-7 transformer out there though. It has an ironic name that has something to do with piston engines if I remember right. There were two other cars that came out with the RX-7. On was called Overdrive. Anybody know about those three?

Yup! Camshaft was a 1st gen RX-7, lol! I used to have one... I wonder if it's still in storage...?
There was also a 2nd gen transformer 'Getaway' (or Lightfoot in Japan)

Just when I thought my obsession with RX7 paraphanelia was over. Along comes this. Arghhh. Must get one.
That costume its awesome, did you notice how the headlight come on and then they flip down. Just out of curiosity, how come they look like the 300ZX headlights.

Well the article with the costume says it's Breakdown, but he was a white Lambourghini Countach LP500S (one of the Stunticons). The costume doesn't look like a Lambourghini to me...
There were, however, a few ZX cars that were transformers.
Bluestreak, Prowl and Smokescreen were all Datsun 280ZX's. Bluestreak was grey and had a T-top, and Prowl was a white police car. Smokescreen was a red/blue re-paint of Prowl. All three were Autobots.
There was also Streetwise (Streetstar in Japan), who was one of the Autobots' Protectobots, was a white Nissan 300ZX cop car.
To me, it looks a lot like Prowl, or a bit like Streetwise.

Bluestreak was actualy blue in the cartoon. I thought it was kind of odd being grey when I got it. Z cars were my first favorite type of car (which is a coincidence because my dad really liked the 240Z and almost got one when they were new).
To get off topic a little, the first REPU I ever saw was blue and I noticed it had dual round tailights and lots of letters on the tailgait. I could'nt read at the time and my grandpa read it to me and told me it had a rotary engine in it. No pistons. What a concept! Geez, that was over 20 years ago.

Actually all three ZX cars were in the cartoon. Prowl was one of the original Transformers from the first episode. Bluestreek was also a recurring character, although not as important as Prowl. I don't remeber seeing Smokescreen in the show.
Prowl dies in 'Transformers: The Movie'.
Streetwise was his replacement in the TV episodes after the movie.
Also, for anyone who has seen the new 'Transformers: Robots In Disguise' cartoon, a new Prowl is in it as a Lambourghini Diablo police pursuit car.
