My first turbo swap (help)

So I have a 85 gsl that I am swapping a turbo s5 into. I have the front cover installed, but the omp will not bolt up. Do I need the se omp?

Also there is another line that will not bolt up, as there is not a spot on the new cover for it. Anyone know what it is and how to proceed?

A lot of searching is in your future. But to get to the point quickly, I need to ask which front cover did you install? There is a difference between GSL-SE and 12A OMP bolt patterns.

I assume the other line is the oil return. It's pretty important. There are various ways to plumb it into the front cover or oil pan. It's best to go in the front cover because you want the oil to encounter air before it gets back to the oil in the pan. Don't ask me why as I just did my first turbo a couple weeks ago and I installed a fitting in the front cover because a) it's easier and b)ecause others recommended it. Oh and c) the factory does it this way too.

Yes it is a gsl se cover. Also could you post a picture how you fabricated the oil return?

the 12A has a different bolt pattern from the GSL-SE-S4 pump, which is different from the S5-FD pumps.

So weighing my options. I either need a s4 omp, or block it off and have to premix. If I block it off do I have to remove the gear? Trying to not have to take the cover back off
