my first no start thread!

I've been gone for a while (the 7 has been running without any trouble and I've been to broke to even think about fun work), but the other day I was finally getting around to tightening up the throttle cable that has been lose since I removed the rat's nest and swapped the carb back over the summer. I thought everything had gone fine, the idle seemed to be better, it started up just fine, but the next day when I tried to start it up it was a no go.
it turns over just fine but won't fire. it's getting spark, fuel, compression seems good, even checked the air vent solenoid. I'm guessing that its flooding but I have pretty much no experience working on carbs so I'm trying to rule everything else out before I dive into that. any quick suggestions of something I might have bumped lose when tightening the throttle cable?

thanks ahead of time for any help.

That's why I say, leave the rats nest alone. I can't count how many times I see a post that there is a issue and they have just removed the rats nest. Check the plugs, if they are wet then you are flooding.
