My first gen on the track

Just a video of my car at thunderhill this last weekend. My buddy and I tortured the car for a solid 7-8 hours over two days, and it survived without any problem. this particular video is of him running with a ford gt. the gt driver is new at this and was taking it fairly easy, but pretty cool video non the less...

Great video Alvin. Doesn't it make you feel great having a car that is over 25 years old going faster through the turns than a Ford GT? I get the same feeling with my 1988 Porsche 944 too.

On Tuesday 3/27, I went up to T-Hill with my 1983 RX7 Spec7 race car that my friend and I purchased without knowing anything about the car. Before the track event, I took it to my mechanic to tighten up all the suspension/chassis bolts and did a complete front and rear brake job with all new pads and even a new rebuilt rear brake caliper. Needless to say, after 7 sessions, the tranmission and or rear end had problems and we had to cut the day short but still had alot of fun.

I am actually planning on selling my RX7 as is to the first person who comes up with $2,000 cash. Here is the link:

Thanks all, I'll have more video to come. Peter, your pix looks awesome, I'm definitely down for a track day or two, let me know when you guys go out! Here are some pictures from a professional site. I'll probably pick up a cd and have high res of these later, but for now, still kinda neat...

Track fees are usually 150-200 a day. It does add up though, over the course of the weekend, I paid 400 in track fees, 200 in gas for the race car, 100 in gas for the tow vehicle, 100 in race tires (picked up a used set of V710s for cheap) and then there's hotel and food and stuff... That's why I mostly do autoxes, a lot cheaper...

Thanks, those are actually my spare wheels, I usually run a set of 13x7 panasports, but some other tires were on it, so I ran these, they are 13x6 enkeis in two different styles, I'm not sure of the offset, but they weigh about 10-11 lbs each, which works well...

Heh, I know that, I've even stated it in the video that I believe this is the first track event for both the driver in my car and the one in the GT, it's just a neat vid because you see the gt blowing the doors off my car in the straightaway but never able to shake my friend...
