My first autox Saturday
So I ran in the OVR-SCCA's driver school Saturday, wanting to learn how to drive autocross. I did pretty well, staying in the top quarter of the participants. Started out at a 57.4 (extremely high for the course) and finished at a 42.something. Not bad. But, my tires are terrible, my rear brakes lock, and my instructor says the LSD acts like it's an open diff. My car's completely stock, and I bet the guy didn't ever change the differential fluid. but it was so much fun, I'm hooked. I'm definately going to upgrade my tires and fluid, at least, before the next autocross. Any suggestions on the tires? I want to be able to drive them home (I'm about 2 miles from the sites a piece) and want to try and stay in my class (E Stock).
Also, will those fit my GSL-SE? Found em cheap locally.

E-stock cars are going to be running Kumho V710s or Hoosier slicks. If its only a few miles you can drive on them no problem. Otherwise look into Falken RT-615s, Kumho MXs, or any other high performance summer tire.

oh yeah, there was a slight upward incline on the course, and whenever i went over it or around one other corner, i got a beep. It wasn't the over-rev buzzer or any other of the regular beeps i would hear. It's like a door beep, but they're shut and locked. Any ideas?

The A048 from Yokohama is a good compromise tire for street/autocross use. They're not nearly as fast as the Kumhos or the Hoosiers, but they're relatively cheap and stand up to quite a bit of abuse.
Those phone-dials will fit your SE, but I don't think they're any bigger than the wheels you've got now.

They'd just be autocross wheels. The 2nd gen FAQ says they have 40mm/40et offset. I'm looking for a set of wheels I can bolt on and go. I like this being broke, it's a lot more fun than having money and being bored
