Talking My CP Racing Strut Bar Is Here!

Hello,

I wanted to know if any of you have any experience with the CP racing triangulated front strut tower bars. I bought one and UPS finally brought it today. I took it out and laid it in place and it looks like the bolts on the strut towers don't match up right.

Do I need to take the weight off the suspension first by jacking up the car? If I do this will they line up correctly? Or is something messed up with my car? I'm pretty sure it hasn't been wrecked. I'm think I just need to jack it up to line up the bolts and holes.

I'm hoping that my car hasn't been wrecked and I'm just now seeing the effects....

Lemme know, I'd really appreciate it! By the way, the strut bar looks beautiful. If you can help me figure out how to get the freak on i'll post some pics!

I"ve put strut bars on before, and they always lined up perfect. Is this one a really tight fit or something???

I had a similar experience. I found that the strut towers were closer together than my Racing Beat bar allowed. I've had the car since new so I know it wasn't in any accidents. I just raised the car slighly and it fit just fine. You're probably seeing the same sagging.

Theres also mfg tolerances, so each car is slightly different. Unless they are WAY off, dont sweat it. Just make it fit. Maybe jacking it like Pizza the Hut suggested.

I'll try jacking it up when I get home and hopefully everything will fall into place then. *crosses fingers*

I really don't want to have to deal with shipping everything back or modifying the part, even though i've been impressed with CP Racing's customer service.

I hope it fits cause the thing looks flat out gorgeous next to my freshly painted engine bay....

Its a nice looking part, and I'm happy with the handling differences with mine, but it the fact that you can't get the cap to the brake master cylinder off with it on there annoys the hell out of me. It just barely clears it. inittab's didn't even fit on his car, he had to cut the firewall bars off of his. There manufacturing tolerances seem to lack a bit. Overall its pretty good though
