Is my clutch slipping?

Do you think my clutch is slipping or do stock 83 RX7'S WITH THE SAME AMOUNT OF MILEAGE 80-90k just accelerate better. It also has a much stiffer pedal feel, my pedal is not stiff at all. And i am slowly losing fluid but i cant tell where from. I already replaced my master and slave cylinders, where should i check for leaks?? I have a clutch waiting to go in but i was just wondering....thanks

sorry..mine is a 84 GS and the 83 was a GSL (twinkletoe's car)

If you see no leaks in the engine bay, look under the carpet, below the clutch pedal. There aren't many places for fluid to go. To test slippage, 4th gear at 30 mph and floor it, if rpms go up and speed doesn't, it's slipping. You might try a clutch dump at that speed too if the clutch is slipping marginally.

Yeah, the standard test is to (while sitting) put it in 5th gear and let the clutch out. If the engine stalls then the clutch is "serviceable"...

what i do to test if my clutch is slipping is to go into 3rd and power shift to 4th....if the revs dont suddenly drop and the revs drop slowly then its a good time to change it...especially if you smell the burning afterwards

i will do the 4th and 5th gear tests...cptpain does seem to kinda describe what ive noticed while driving hard, especially the burny smell ............also, how much resistance should the pedal have?? (stock components)....i see no leaks on firewall, but i believe maybe the clutch hose end thats attached to the slave may be my problem...i will tighten it down....its such a pain in the but to work on tho
