my car... RUNS!!!!

excuse the bastardized car, but i saved it from being under a tree for over 2 years... but she FINALLY starts.

its been a good 10 months or so since i brought the car home, and about $1600 later, she runs. it still needs some work before i get it on the road, but sitting in the car and feeling those solid motor mounts vibrate the seat...

i hope to have it out at the track to see what it does in the 1/4 within the next month or so.

heres a decently recent picture, but ill get some of today probably tonight.

sorry, im just SOOO f'n stoked right now

what's the estimated output on that motor? what's your goal? looks interesting i've never seen a 4cyl swap into a 7.

im sure randy will pop in some time or another. hes done the swap and last i heard he has is down to 12.44 @ 121mph in the 1/4 and weighed in at ~2600lbs.

my goals are more on the autox/drifting level, but i would like to turn in a good 1/4 time. i think stock, the 1986 merkur xr4ti (car the motor came out of) was rated at 180hp/200torque. i have some minor stuff that should push it a little higher than that, but i dont want to say what i think its pushing until i get it on a dyno, which should also be within a month or 2.

i still need to hook the throttle cable up to the throttle body, get a barometric pressure sensor (almost died on fumes when i started it), fill it with coolant and check for leaks. wire the fuel pump up with a relay and so on, and a few other minor things like that.

im hoping to have it completely up and racing for an autox on march 21st. ill post slips, dyno charts and everything else as they come in...
