My car really cracks me up (electrical question)

Okay, my car runs a straight pipe (overheat exhaust light is always on). Last weekend, I changed the front brake hoses and bled the fluid. I warm it up (even though it always dies if I don't keep on throttle) and start driving it. As I approach a red light, (on my brakes) the idiot lights turn on (battery, stop and one other one which I forget) then my car suddenly dies (since it can even hold idle till I really really drive it). Anyway, the idiot lights sometimes go on when I hit my brakes, and mostly when the car is at rest. Well, then only way I can get these idiot lights to turn off is if I rev it to 2 grands. What is the problem here?

The problem is the nut behind the wheel.

There are many nuts behind this wheel and plenty more of where that came from.

Alternator... Some won't start charging until after they have surpassed a certain rpm range. Sounds like yours is getting confused, and is ceasing it's charging operation, which trips all the triggers for the dummy lights.

However, I may be wrong as I've been drinking tonight.

Without being able to see it in person I would have to agree that the alternator isn't charging properly, either it is shot, or the voltage regulator is shot, since that is internal either way you'll need a new one. Before you go switching parts around you might want to check its voltage with a meter to confirm.
Also, why is it stalling to much? Do you still have the nikki on there with a functioning choke?
FB's don't have a whole lot of grounding points, so you might want to check those, it won't take long to clean them up, couldn't hurt....

I'm not sure what the kind of carb it is, but is stock(I'm guessing it's Nikki). I don't have a normal functioning choke, which means I have to pres on the the gas pedal twice before I turn the key to get it started. But once I drive it, car should be able to hold the idle.
