i already found the 4 wires, but all i need to do is know which 2 of the 4 go thogether, so i can somehow connect the solenoid. can anyone do me a favor of posting a pic of a real close up of the wires that go into the connectors and into the solenoid so i can see which cable goes were? huge favor, thanks

On my 1980, the white solenoid connects to one black wire, and one green wire with a yellow stripe.

According to the wiring diagram, the black wire is ground, the green-with-yellow comes from the Air Conditioning Relay, which is one of the relays (front, inside one) mounted just aft of the drivers-side strut tower. That relay is controlled by the ECU.

Different years may use different colors.

my 85 is dark green base/yellow stripe.
the Black ground also has a yellow stripe

what about the other 2 because there are 4 wires, the dark green/ yellow stripe another green with another color stripe, whcih i cant check those colors becaus ei am at work and the other is black and i beleave is red striped and the one you tell me black/ yellow stripe. Do you have any idea what those other 2 are for?

Looking at the wiring diagram, it seems what I thought was green-with-yellow is labelled "GW" which would be green-with-white. Of course, the wires ARE 29 years old, so white isn't going to be all that white any more.

The other wires likely ran the other solenoids on the rats nest. The number and purpose changed over the years.
