My Back Halfed 85 Turbo FB with 275x 50
just finished the back half on my 85. square tube frame with a ford 8.8, 456 Richmond gears, strange axles and got Weld Rod Lite wheels. 15x 3 in the front and 15x 10 in the rear wrapped in a 275-50 Nitto drag radial. its amazing how much power this motor has. before i would let go of the tires at 75 MPH when it would boost. Now I'm leaving a 10 1/2 inch foot print. cant wait to get my new wheels for the street.... 18x 7.5 in the front and 20x12 in the rear on 305-30-20

Very nice, just for interest sake besides the extra fabrication involved is there any real advantages to backhalfing and fitting in a ford 8.8. To buying the Grannys speed shop ta/sa kit? Obviously with your setup the rear end links can be modified to any angle, does this make a huge difference compared to grannies setup that is supposed to provide slight lift on accel for better traction?

to go widebody. Plus, all the customization possible with
everything being adjustable. He can adjust the pinion angle,
pre-load, etc..
Similar to mine, (I have a 4 link) - but with the advantage of being able to fit Steamrollers under the stock sheet metal.

LOL.... I couldnt of said it better myself... big wheels and tires without damaging body lines. the hole launch now is incredible. as for the 8.8..... i have a buddy that went 8.63 in the 1/4 in a 93 Mustang coupe with an 8.8... good enough for me..... and when i put the 18x7.5's in the front and the 20x12's in the rear its gonna look like a DUB CITY TOY
