My '85 GS Restification Stage 4! PICS!

Here are some shots of my baby that I've been wanting to share with everyone. Right now she is in storage because I'm working on stripping down the parts car. When I get her back she's gonna be getting the Auto to 5 Spd swap, and I can't wait to start it.

Here is a shot of my RB headers with the Wankel painted up really nice.

Here is a picture of me getting her ready to go into storage. It was sort of hard to say goodbye to her for a few months but it will be worth it when I get that darn JATCO automatic out of there.

Here is a picture of the OMP blockoff plate that I made out of Aluminum. I haven't had a chance to test it yet, because Sterling is rebulding my carb, but I'm fairly confident that it won't leak. It'll be nice to have that clean MMO coming in with the fuel.

Here is a picture of the hatch area nearly finished. I have painted most of the interior parts, and I recarpeted the back. I also cut a nice piece of plywood to replace the dumb rubber mat that was back there. It looks way better than when I got it.

Here is a picture of the Taurus fan that I got from the local salvage yard for her. I wired it up to a very cool switch under the dash. Just can't forget to turn it on.

Here is my intake manifold ready to go back on when I get teh carb back from Sterling. I am removing all emissions and have modified the intake manifold to suit my purpose. I think she'll run much better without all that emissions junk causing me extra problems.

Finally, here is a pic of an oil leak that I've been having. It seems to be coming out from the bottom plate on the Automatic transmission. I'm wondering if it might be a rear seal, which I can change when I'm in there messing with the 5 spd swap. I'm just not sure what usually causes a leak in that location. As far as I know a rear seal would be about the only thing. Anyone have any input on this? Thanks!

Let me know how you think she is coming along everyone! Later!

Jamie

Lookin pretty good! Hard to tell where that oil leak is comming from. If you still have the beehive oil cooler, it might be from that, and running down to the bottom of the engine.

looks nice!

How hard was it to fit the plywood in the hatch? Is it a lot heavier than the rubber mat that it replaced? (you can see the spare tire outline in my carpet )

The plywood might be a tad heavier than the rubber padding but not much. I bought a piece of plywood and used the rubber mat as a template. Traced around it to get the shape and then cut it out with a jigsaw. It needs a little more work though becasue of the spare tire inthe middle. It sticks up a little too far and kinda wobbles around. I'll get it fixed sooner or later though...

Are you sure you want to run MMO and not two-stroke? Just curious. It looks good, nice work.

Why not? MMO is way better than regular 2 stroke.

looks good man i have a taurus fan as well! just some advice is to drill some large holes in all the dead spots of the fan shroud i noticed a differance, no heat soaking areas while driving at slow speeds, believe it or not it works, if any ? just post it here.

I dunno about that. 2-stroke oil is designed to mix with gas and lubricate internal combustion engines. MMO on the other hand is designed to do what specifically? If I recall correctly, the MMO bottle says a lot about cleaning not lubricating. I'm sticking with 2-stroke for my premix cocktail.
